      @knightgale2120 I mean that's pretty much it dexter seems to take on any case that deals with the killing torturing of women and children personally that or when the killer causes distress of any kind to the ppl he cares most about. I don't remember the case in question but if it had anything to do with women kids or distressing Deb it's not uncharacteristic for him to take it in his own hands. This is likely due to his past of seeing his mother chopped up in front of him plus the immense since of loyalty he feels towards ppl like Deb batista etc

      Its in the series too. Im not sure how the video guy missed that. Its central to how Biny fucks with Dexter throughout series one. The room full of blood really messess him up.
      I'm annoyed these days by how basically everyone claims to be Autistic. Its not a gift that can be switched on. Dex is not autistic. What he is, is an unreliable narator.
      He constantly talks about not having emotions. We see that he does. He is lieing to someone. Himself AND us.
      You dont need to get all clever in diagnosing him. He is a self serving evil fuck who is off his nut and insane.

    I’m fairly certain the official Trinity killer kill count is just the ”Trinity” kills, which lacks all the little boys killed due to the kill cycle actually being four kills rather than three. So Trinity should easily be in the 300’s if not pushing 400 kills.

    • @TheReal-HankSchrader
      @TheReal-HankSchrader Месяц назад +4

      No that counts the boys. 33 years, times probably 2 cycles a year which is 4 people so 8 a year. 8 x 33 = 264 which not hard to figure out

    • @IHearTheMink
      @IHearTheMink Месяц назад +7

      @@TheReal-HankSchraderIn the show, it’s revealed his kills line up with school breaks, giving him approximately 69 kill cycles since 1976. 276 would be his tally not counting his 3 kills in Miami, since Dexter saved the boy. 279 is his total count, so your guess isn’t too far off.

      Also, as soon as I saw the 24 hours piece… I realized just how unrealistic the show was 🤣 even in the early 2000s when the original show takes place, Miami traffic is atrocious. Dexter lives in an apartment on the water and works at the Miami Metro (fictional: the irl equivalent would have been the Miami Dade Police Dept. which is now known as the Miami Dade Sheriff’s Office as of 2024 or the City of Miami PD), which would mean that just his commute to work would never be anything less than 30 minutes (bc Miami traffic is atrocious). The idea of Dexter is genius when you think about it. The main thing that makes serial killers so hard to catch is not their intelligence but the fact that they have very little to no real connection to the victim atleast on a personal level and that connection to the victim is often the key factor is solving most murders so it enables them to slip through the cracks by nature almost. If you're a serial killer of serial killers then most of the work of not getting caught is done for you simply by that fact. Also, since dexter has no connection to his victims as well, then he kinda has wrapped himself in a double layer of optimal secnarios to practice his craft and not get caught.

I was surprised to see the the last couple of seasons were disliked and that especially the ending was hated. I thought the ending was great, it left room for more just in case. It either ended forever or came back later down the road. I have a feeling New Blood was already planned then, but time had to run it's course. Not sure what people really expected, things would eventually crumble around him and the human side of him would come into play.
    Also, great video!

      People wanted Dexter to either get caught and pay for his sins or lead a good life that's been set up for him. Also the fact that he just disposes of Debra's body in the same waters that the other scum rots in? Very stupid.
      The whole season 8 was honestly very poorly done, especially the story with Hannah.

    Tbh sociopaths can keep jobs there surgeons in the world today who are sociopaths and still doing their thing i remember a guy who diagnosed himself as sociopath by trying to diagnose a guy who is a sociopath to confirm it when comparing it to his own he realised he a sociopath too i believe he still doing his job now and has been for years. So it isn’t out of possibility for sociopath to keep a job and tbh some of them a lot better than us at it. Some jobs require manipulation etc

      I have no idea where he's getting his definitions because Dexter is blatantly written as a sociopath. He brings up Sherlock who the direct quote about his mental state is "high functioning sociopath" but it's played as a joke so it's more likely Sherlock isn't a sociopath at all and just likes messing with Watson.

    Of course the writers didn't necessarily intend any of this, but it's heavily convoluted because the line of psychopath and sociopath isn't very well defined. So much so that in the DSR-5 they aren't even defined as disorders anymore, all of it being under the ASPD umbrella. If you want to dive deeper into armchair diagnosing dexter I would highly recommend giving the relavent sections of the DSR a read, it's interesting

      the point was to keep you asking is it nature or nurture. when dexter felt feelings he was shocked because Harry always told him it was impossible. there is no perfect picture of a killer which was Harrys foundational fault in him giving Dexter the calculated code. flashback episodes literally show it.
      Hollywood entertains.. real life diagnosis are moot.. yall so obsessed with forcing mental illness labels when the nuance was INTENTIONAL.. i see you're adept at googleling rather than cognitive thinking or the gems that are dvd commentary

    My perfect ending for Dexter : he kills someone in his Dark defender outfit not from his desires but to save Harrison. Son forgives his father. Dexter understands that Dark Passenger is gone. He Won. Either he and Harrison disappear together or he is doing it alone. And only in small towns and villages can you hear the legends of the dark defender, a man who kills people who have escaped the law.

It makes the fact that Lundy came straight to Dexter entirely right off the jump when Trinity resurfaced.

    I really like the idea of Dexter being autistic. Before I realized I was autistic I thought that I had no emotion, but now I understand I have just a really weird way to process them.
    And while not every autistic person has a hyper fixation it's not outside the realm of possibility that Dexter has the hyperfixation of murder..
    The way he talks about it as an itch or a yearning is very similar to how autistic people feel about their hyperfixation. The desire to talk about and share in it is very common and would emotionally erode someone if they couldn't such as in Dexter's case

    I remember when Camilla was in her death bed, she said something like “I know” when Dexter hesitated towards killing her, leading me to believe she knew, although her giddiness makes me also believe she didn’t know, yet if you see Camilla in the scene where he asks where the files are before his mothers killing, she seems very serious, cold, almost emotionless, giving a bit more feeling towards the theory that she, just like Dexter, also “faked” or “pretended” some emotions or interactions, leading me to believe she might have just faked a few emotions to make Dexter not feel so alone or maybe even evade him from becoming unhinged based on anger, or in general because she truely loved him and maybe even agreed with what he did in a way, and just ignored the killing and loved him for his personality, because in my opinion, Camilla seemed like those type of ladies who had very controversial opinions when it came to strong stuff like killing guilty criminals, a lot of women where I’m from are very “fond” of the idea of linching criminals who go out and rob helpless, and they are usually the nicest and sweetest human beings you can mett

    Michael C Hall was born to play Dexter, I can’t literally think of another actor for the role (maybe Jake Gyllenhaal, but I don’t think he could play a guy pretending to be an awkward geek lab, at least not as perfect as Hall).
